Richie Hits Up DVF Twice in One Day

Looks like Nicole is a major fan of Diane von Furstenberg's summer designs. Nicole and Joel were seen shopping earlier today at the Diane von Furstenberg boutique. She strutted in wearing a DVF "Ora" printed dress, Balenciaga gladiator wedges, and a Jennifer Meyer yellow gold and diamond letter "H" necklace to show love for her newborn baby Harlow.

This must-have Diane von Furstenberg Ora 'Parrot Diamond' print silk jersey dress hits all the right sizzling notes for summer. With a flattering loose cut and a self-tie open back detail, this vibrant piece is available now at NET-A-PORTER for $235.

Hours later....

It seems as though Nicole found some new DVF designs to add to her closet because she was later seen wearing a Diane von Furstenberg Novesa Maxi Dress and Louboutin sling-backs. This extra sweet and feminine print jersey halter maxi has a ruched loop neckline and a unique descending pok-a-dot pattern. The "Novesa" maxi is now available at SHOPBOP for $425.

Got Build Up?

Is your hair suffering from build up...or wish your hair could go longer between showers? The use of mousses and holding sprays can weigh your hair down, while constantly running those fingers through that mane can send your freshly showered strands into a sad stale state.

Hair dressers may recommend the use of a clarifying shampoo to deep clean the scalp, but daily use will strip your hair dry. Introducing Matrix Biolage Normalizing Shampoo! I've become inseparable with it!

Matrix Biolage Normalizing Shampoo is unlike those harsh clarifying shampoos. Instead of stripping your hair of it's natural oils and excess product, it gently frees your hair of build up and normalizes both your hair and your scalp. Special balancing agents, Quillaja Saponaria, and Ginkgo cleanse the scalp without leaving your hair dry. It leaves your hair feeling fresh and light for days!

Another quick and easy way to steer clear of excess build up is to avoid applying your conditioner to the scalp. Some conditioners may be too heavy to successfully wash out from your hair, leaving your hair feeling weighed down and due for another shower. Try to smooth it over your wet hair and focus mainly on the tips of your hair. Don't massage it into your scalp. Follow this quick tip for soft, shiny, and responsive hair!

My Latest Shopping Spree

A major shopping spree urge hit me the other day when it finally began to feel like spring. I was in dire need of ethereal fabrics, lighter layers, and higher hemlines. While I've quickly become a fan of high-waisted shorts, I was still in search for the perfect shirt for this season.

I felt a little guilty passing up some time in the sun for dressing rooms stalls, but I did successfully find the ideal spring top. Free-flowing Mexican-style embroidered blouses. I found multiple designs in enticing colors. Perfect for cool breezes and warm rays of sunshine. UrbanOutfitters offers a slew of these fresh designs.

Hmm....

Male model hired to play Spencer's "friend"? Just a thought! What do you think?

Olsens Balance Work & Play in Hong Kong

For a moment I thought the Ashley and Mary-Kate were laying low, but it seems that the two have actually been flying high overseas. The twin designers arrived in Hong Kong on April 9th to launch the Spring/Summer 2008 collection of their Elizabeth and James clothing line at the Lane Crawford department store. Hong Kong Hustle reported a strong turnout.

The launch party was refreshingly informal. There was a novel decision to ditch the runway and send the models strolling throughout the crowd. Models posed with guests for a special Polaroid shot. Guests were able to view the line up close while waiting for their souvenir Polaroid to develop.

Ashley and Mary-Kate made two short appearances during the night. They seemed very pleased with the enthusiastic turnout. The walls were adorned with Polaroids of inspiration and a detailed description of their latest collection. One display read:

Elizabeth and James, the new contemporary sportswear collection by Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen, combines classic aspects of feminine fashion with masculine tailoring. Two complimentary silhouettes are featured in the collection: The tailored and sexy Elizabeth blazer; and the oversized "boyfriend" cut James blazer. This season's palette consists of neutral tones, moody darks, pale and ethereal colours, and night time hues. The new line elevates contemporary fashion with a keen attention to detail and the perfect fit.

The following night, the twins dressed down and attended the Bape Heads Show featuring Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and Nigo. It's exciting to see them in such high spirits!

Virtual Closet

I bet you were pretttty surprised to see these pictures of Mary-Kate Olsen looking sassy in this black silk Calvin Klein romper. The eclectic twin usually surprises onlookers with her unusual taste, but chose to attend the after-party for the screening of 21 decked in an ultra sleek ensemble. (shoes by Christian Louboutin, romper by Calvin Klein, clutch by Miu Miu, belt by Chanel)

When I saw these photos, I experienced a lingering feeling déjà vu. FabSugar quickly identified that the silky jumper appeared on her sister, Ashley, back in 2005. Phew! That's right! Ah, the joy of having a joint wardrobe.

I have to admit that I spend forEVER assembling an outfit before I go out for the night, but I enjoy every second of it. Recently, I discovered a site called ShopStyle that allows me to pick from a virtual closet and create endless looks. ShopStyle members can become virtual fashion stylists. You may find it a little silly, until you see the vast amounts of items brought in from sites like BlueFly, Bloomingdales, Saks, Urban Outfitters, and Shopbop.

I thought it would be fun to show you an example by recreating Mary-Kate's ensemble! Check it out!

A Beauty Product Sent from Heaven

It took me years to finally stumble upon this amazing product and now I feel the need to spread the word! If you're like me, you question the true benefits of drugstore moisturizers, such as Neutrogena and Clean & Clear. You want your skin to feel soft and refreshed, while steering clear of those pore-clogging chemicals. Even though these popular drugstore brands claim to be "#1 dermatologist recommended", I was never satisfied with the condition of my skin while using them. They either left my skin dry and irritated or oily and dull.

Murad's Skin Perfecting Lotion ($33) is available in two formulas, one for Normal to Combination skin, and another for Oily to Acne-Prone skin. I've tried both and fell in love. Murad has included unique ingredients to tackle an array of skin problems, while simultaneously moisturizing the skin.

Retinol and Queen of Meadow extract penetrate pores to keep them clear. Honey extract tones and tightens the skin. Algae extract provides sebum (oil production) control. Talc helps to prevent shine. Arnica helps heal and calm irritated skin.

This product has received hundreds of online reviews which average a score of 5 out of 5 stars. Here are some customer reviews from drugstore.com.

This is the best moisturizer that is oil free and still feels very moist. It gives my skin a great glow. I only use the gel exfoliator every other night because I have combination skin that tends to dry easily. Other than that, this line has been the best I have ever tried. It is a little expensive but it is so worth the try. And did I say that I only used it for a week and a half and the results are getting better and better. I can't wait for the long run!!!-- Anonymous

I've been using this product for the past 3 months every morning after cleansing (and prior to applying the Murad Oil-Free Sunblock Sheer Tint), and my oily skin has had no problems. It leaves my skin soft and lightly moisturized, even in the winter months when I normally suffer from dry, peeling skin. And best of all, it has not caused me to break out or increased the shine factor, something I've not been able to say about other moisturizers! I'd highly recommend this to anyone with adult acne-prone skin!-- Christie W, Woodbury, MN

The Fashion World Loves Whitney Port

Are you guilty of tuning into new episodes of The Hills? Don't be ashamed. I must admit, it's quite addicting. While I'm completely aware that this show is far from reality, I do believe that some of the fashion statements and the workings of fashion world are displayed in their rawest form. The main attraction, in my eyes, is being able to see what Whitney's got on. I believe her superior taste in fashion is certainly heard loud and clear among the millions of viewers.

Last night, MTV was gracious enough to feed our addiction with two new episodes, back-to-back. The first episode sent me into serious search mode for the leather jacket Whitney wore on her last day at Teen Vogue. It was a dark caramel leather with a buttery finish and a ruffled wide neck collar. While couldn't find the exact design just yet, I did find a similar piece in black!

Check out this MADISON MARCUS three button tier leather jacket. This design has its own unique take on Whitney's ruffled wide neck collar with a fold over collar seam and ruching throughout. It's available at Luxe Label for half price!!

Check out these other amazing leather jacket designs courtesy of NET-A-PORTER. Perfect for spring!

PS! In the second episode, The Hills took us backstage with Whitney at the Sass & Bide Ready-to-Wear fashion show during New York Fashion Week. The quirky, colorful designs caught my eye back in February, so I followed up on it with a picture-filled post. Check it out: Swanky Second Day of Fashion Week.
