Last season, I was feeling a bit creative and brought you the spring color report as actual nail lacquers and I found that many of you really enjoyed my interpretation! The Pantone Color Institute®, world-renowned authority on color, has recently released their latest color report for fall 2008 and I'm looking to make this post a seasonal tradition! I scoured the Internet to match each color perfectly to its respective polish. If you're hoping to incorporate these colors into next season's wardrobe, a bold application of nail lacquer is a great way to celebrate fall's return.
The Pantone Color Institute® describes fall 2008 as the season of change. Cool refreshing greens, purples, and blues are lifted with the warmth of sweet raspberry red, burnt orange, and a golden mustard yellow. Blue Iris, translated as O.P.I's "Dating a Royal", is a vibrant balance of purple and blue and Pantone claims it to be one of the top 10 colors chosen by designers for this season."Fall is traditionally a time for subdued, quiet colors, but this season we are seeing a shift toward cool hues with bright, exciting undertones," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. "Conventional tones such as warm autumn hues, chocolate browns and steel grays are also among the fall color choices."
